Lloyds scholars

My firm university just emailed me to recommend applying for the lloyds scholars programme, but my home income is above £25000, so should I bother applying? Would I still have a chance of getting accepted despite my household income being above the requirements?

To be honest I dont think there is a point as the entry criteria specifically states the income has to be below 25k.
