Difference between IB Literature and IB Language & Literature ?

I am about to choose my IB subjects. But I dont know the difference between IB Literature and IB Language and Literature. Can anyone tell me please ? Thanks :smile:

Lit = Analysis and evaluation of literature at word-level.

Lang Lit (I do this course) = Understanding English Language through a cultural lens + analysis and evaluation of literature. The course usually gets us to develop a basic understanding of politics, psychology, linguistics, and so forth, to understand the hidden connotations of a text further.

e.g. We're doing 1984 right now, and we just learned more about terror management over the ages so as to grasp how Ingsoc's state apparatus develops loyalty amongst the people.
