Therefore, 5+3cosx=2
cosx=-1
and you can solve

The 3rd transformation question was a stretch in the y-direction by a scale factor 3, right?

Also, as someone else asked, how many marks are lost if you didn't do anything correct beyond 5 + 3cosθ?
Stretch in y-direction by sf 3 is correct!!!

That's good, I saw someone post earlier that it was an x-direction stretch by s.f. 1/3 and I started worrying lol

To be honest, it was a poorly worded question in my opinion, I wasn't sure what they meant by "least possible value", good thing I did assume it meant the lowest possible value, so I got the value as 2 and x=pi.

I got -1648 and the perimeter one I got 13.8(3s.f)

I Wrote that but it's wrong, the reason it is 1/3 in x is because you would get ( (3x)^2+9)^1/2 which you can then factorise out the nine and when you square root it, gives u the new expression with the three on the outside.

What is the original function for x?
Is it (x^2+9)^1/2 or (x^2+1)^1/2?
