I got 4. i think they were 45,(180-45), and some decimals from the other pair.

It was 45 and 225 because it was a tan graph
Questions I remember:
a = -2
stationary point was at (9,6)
translation by (11/2 , 0) therefore k was 5.5
sigma question between 4 and 21 was 90
trapezium rule on was 65.6
binomial coefficient was -1000 and something
4 solutions for tan were 45, 225, 129, 309
smallest value for cos was 2 and occurred at pi radians
Log question with m and n was 3^(m/2 -6n)
Last log question was 5/2

Something along those lines, can't remember it all though...
Anyone get -336 on the last question on arithmetic sequences?

And is m/2 for 3^(M/2 - n^6) the same as square root of m or m/2?
edit: nevermind
For the one about the sketch of 0.2^x I drew it the wrong the way because I forgot is was 5^-x ;(

Why is it -6n? Wasn't it -12n?

It was (n^3)^2

I think I got the same for all. 9 was 3^(m/2 -6n)

For 4 U12 was 6
And I think I got -336 for one question

I got -336 for them coefficient of x^10!

Updated - Unofficial Mark Scheme.

Made a few errors so here it is:

1. b) a=-2
2. b) x=-0.861
c) reflection in y-axis
3. a) 3x^-1/2 - 1
b) y=6
c) y + 2x = 13
d) k = 5.5
4. b) d = -2, a = 28
c) Sum to 21 - sum to 3. Can't remember exact.
5. b) area = 19.9
c) perimeter = 13.8 (something like that)
6. a) 65.6
b) i) translation (0,5)
ii) stretch in X-direction 1/3 sf
7. b) -1648
8. b) can't remember! Tan(X) = 1 and tan(X) =-5/4
c) lowest = 2, when theta = pi
9. a) c^(m/2 -6n)
b) X = 5/2

4c came to 90

what did you get for the coefficient in the binomials question?

Hi all,

My experience of this paper (AQA C2 June 2016) was fairly grim on several fronts.

I have admiration for people who can actually remember their answers after the exam. I can't. Mostly I can barely remember what the questions were. As the exam starts I drop into my zone and then, 90 minutes later, I get dragged out of it, and the intervening time is all a bit hazy.

Anyhow, I ran out of time with 1 question untouched (the one using the trapezium rule, which should have been several easy marks) and two questions (the one about trig identities and the one involving logs of base 4) only half attempted.

The log base 4 question - what I attempted of it - I messed up royally. Ended up with a quadratic which wouldn't factor - discriminant was < 0 - but from the question there was one solution, so if my logic was correct it should have = 0. GOK what happened with that one.

Trig identities - it was as if I had never seen such a question before! And yet on Saturday I spent 9 hours doing nothing but trig and triangle problems. (The upside of this epic session was that the question about the sector cut out of the triangle went well though.)

The binomial question took way, way, way too long (like 10 minutes longer than I should have spent on it), but I think that, looking at other's answers, I got the whole question correct, so there's a small grain of comfort in an otherwise miserable morning.

2017 resit of C2 anybody?

Should be 180+45!

Don't mean to worry you, but that wasn't the last question D:

but yeah, if you solved to 5+3costheta, then you'll get at least half the marks

Thanks , im not sure which question it was.
What about the one where you have to show something has one root and find it? I found the root but didnt write b^2-4ac would that probably be 1/2 marks again?

How many marks was the gradient of the tangent?
Reply 133
4c) was 128 - 75 or 78, can't quite remember. I think I will need to resit in 2017. This paper was the hardest C2 I had ever done, all the past papers were easy.
Most of the Qs were worded really badly except first 3 Qs which were quite easy and understandable.

Wasn't it normal? I think 3 marks to plug into equation. Did you get -2?
how many marks was 9a. worth?
Did we have to calculate equation of the target, or the normal?
was it not stretch in the y direction scale factor 3 for question 6

4 I believe
For dy/dx I got -3x^-1/2 -1
