Yeah it was for year 13, alcohol wasn't allowed for the year 11 one.
Makes sense, I was referring to the year 11 prom where there's no alcohol.

I went to homecoming and prom. And boy, was it boring! I went to homecoming willingly for experience. Prom I was forced to go to. If you don't like dancing or dance at all, don't go!

Does it make any sense to spend over 200 dollars on an event where you literally watch other people dance, and where there is crummy snacks for 4 hours? I don't think it makes sense.
If you have tons of friends, and enjoy dancing, you'll like. I'm just speaking for myself on my experience though.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I have decided that i'm not going to go. I'm not popular at all and neither do i have many friends, the friends I do have are lovely but all part of different friend groups that I don't really fit in to so I just drift to and from among the groups.
I don't want to say goodbye to secondary school, I've had a pretty rough time so I've decided to drift away slowly and hopefully be forgotten by them all. I don't need prom to see my friends again after gcse's if they're really my friends we'd keep in touch after school, right?
I don't own any prom suitable clothes so i'm not going to bother buying them just to wear once, I have many more things i'd like to spend my money on which I would actually feel was worth the money. I've decided to just chill out with my mum and have a movie night with ice-cream which appeals much more to me.
Thankyou for your help as I am now very happy with the decision I have come to.
