Edexcel paper 4MA0/4HR june 2015 q19?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this question? (where sqrt is square root)

(e-2sqrt(3))^2 = f- 20sqrt (3)

e and f are integers, what is the value of e and f? Im not sure how you solve 2 variables when only given one equation
Multiply out the LHS i.e. e^2 - 4e.sqrt(3) 12 = f - 20.sqrt(3)This only works as e and f must be INTEGERS, so you must be able to cancel out the surds - so make e=5 so that -4e.sqrt(3) cancels the -20.sqrt(3)Then work through and f becomes 37
