Hello, So I was wondering how the open uni grades a Cert.HE? I have seen lots on how they grade Degrees but nothing on a CertHe. Can anyone offer any help?
It's just so I know what to aim for when I start because I work better when I know how grading works for exams, tests etc. Thank you!

Do you mean how they grade the cert itself, or the modules?

The Cert isn't classified. From the Open University Academic Regulations (Taught Courses):
    K7 Classification
Undergraduate bachelor’s degrees with Honours and integrated master’s degrees areclassified. No other undergraduate qualifications are classified.

For the modules, they're not really graded any differently, but are typically pass/fail, because Certificates of Higher Education are made up of Stage 1 modules which aren't considered for honours degree classification. (Modules can be Pass/Fail, or they can be Distinction/Pass/Fail, or Distinction/Merit/Pass/Fail, or 1/2/3/4.)

Modules have two scores at the end, the OCAS (Overall Continuous Assessment Score) and the OEA (Overall Examinable Assessment). The OCAS is the weighted average of your TMAs and iCMAs. The OEA is your final exam or EMA (End of Module Assessment) (or your project, thesis, or other final requirement).

Your overall result is the LOWEST of either your OCAS or your OEA. A distinction/1 is 85+%, Merit/2 is 70+%, 3 is 55+%, and Pass/4 is 40%.
