is the period of the graph, what's the period of the graph from the coordinates? Equate those two to find a. Then just sub in a point to find b.

Function transformations. compresses the graph of by a units.

So since the period of the sine graph is is then the period of the squashed sine graph has period . The translate of +b does not affect the period.
