I have been charged first with S18 then upon turning up to Crown Court the prosecution introduced a new charge! That of S20! All concunrently... Is this possible? and what legal avenue do I have to fight off such a case?

Yes because one is more serious than the other. If you go to trial then they will weigh the evidence against both criteria and decide which one your actions match. S20 is the lesser charge.

Talk to your solicitor who can review the evidence
