Noisy upstairs neighbour

Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016

Ok, a harder case to make without others being affected by the noise. Is there a mediation service in your area? What was the gist of what your neighbour said when you tried to reason with him?

    Thanks everyone.

I asked the landlord whether the neighbour had a clause in his contract, like we do, not to disturb the neighbours as like you say, we thought that could be grounds for having a solicitor send a letter or get us out of our contract, but we didn't get an answer.

If you dont have evidence in the form of diaries and recordings, then you arent going to get anywhere.

Talk to them- but that hasnt worked.

Mediate- but imo based on what you say they will agree and break it.

Environmental health, but they have to be satisfied these people are a statutory nuiscance and for that you need evidence. They might send an abatement notice if convinced.

Look at your tenancy agreement. It's highly probable your neighbour has the same clause. What does the clause say? Can you enforce it or does it require your LL.

You arent going anywhere without evidence and being willing to communicate with the neighbour or getting a third party to communicate for you.
