    1. Read the CJEU judgment in Joined Cases C-293/12 and C-594/12, Digital
    Rights Ireland, EU:C:2014:238.
    Your task is to write a case note. This should include a concise account of the case highlighting the main EU law rules applied in the judgment. It should also include a comment on the case which reflects ONE of the following aspects:
    o ● *the role of the CJEU in reviewing EU legislation; OR
    o ● *checks and balances mechanisms among EU institutions and between EU institutions and Member States institutions; OR
    ● *the protection of fundamental rights in the EU
