For the horses question:

For the how has it developed:
a. The area of the foot in contact with the ground has shrunk
b. Number of toes has decreased

For the how it evolved:
It's basically just the generic evolution question so you say:

1. Ground got harder and drier
2. Mutuation made caused a variation of the organism to form that had a smaller area of foot in contact with the ground
3. Means it was better adapted to its environment so survived and passed on its genes to its offspring
4. Over time all the others without the mutation died out

I got the same answer, but I rounded it to 2 because the rest of the data in the table didn't consist of decimals and I remember doing a practice question in class and the teacher couldn't stress enough to follow the question and put it to the same amount of SF as them, so...?

Judging by most people here finding it difficult, I expect a grade boundary around 45-46 for an A*. Also, bear in mind that in most surveys students on TSR score higher than the population average :u:

For the question about the thrush and snail, could you put about how the snails lack of movement means less energy is used up in movement, meaning the thrush would gain greater biomass?

It was the one where they were saying "A new drug that blocks nicotine from being detected by the part of the brain that is sensitive nicotine. This part of the rbain is also sensitive to alcohol, could the drug help people with alcohol addictions as well as those with nicotine addictions?"

It talked about rats in that bulk of text that i'm sure very few people bothered to read. It basically said they let the rats drink alcohol then gave them the drug to see if it worked.

I know! And I usually have around 5 mins to spare at the end of my exam. It was that first question that totally threw me and I spent far too long on the independent company!
