What exactly was the answer to the Malaria/Sickle cell question?(B1 Edexcel)?

I wrote about natural selection and how this would mean more people are resistant to malaria as sickle cell carries on in generations.

It said that people who have sickle cell are less likely to catch malaria so it would make sense if the answer was something along the lines of, "People without sickle cell die of the disease, whilst the people with sickle cell are more likely to survive so they can reproduce and pass on sickle cell"

    But I'm not too sure

I wrote about natural selection as well. A teacher in my school done the paper once we had finished it and she confirmed natural selection was the correct answer. Well done!

Question came in Sample Assessment Material (Question 3 (B)(iii)). I did all past papers but not this one.
