M2 Center of mass help

Announcements Posted on
Why bother with a post grad course - waste of time? 17-10-2016
1. How do you find the center of rods that are angled? I could do it fine for horizontal and vertical rods but not these...

Take 2.5 rod at the bottom for example.

is it's center of mass (2.5/2, -0.7/2)

2. Not quite, you need to find the midpoint of the rod. So find the x-coordinate of P and half it, then the y coordinate of P and half it. Then you have the midpoint.
