Don't understand how sin(theta) was formed. =/

sin(AB)=sinAcosBsinBcosA\sin(A-B) = \sin A \cos B - \sin B\cos A

Do that with A=πA = \pi and B=θB = \theta:

sinϕ=sin(πθ)=sinπcosθcosπsinθ\sin \phi = \sin(\pi - \theta) = \sin \pi \cos \theta - \cos \pi \sin \theta

Now remember that sinπ=0\sin \pi = 0 and cosπ=1\cos \pi = -1
