    Even if they go to separate markers its still a fact you have written something in the extra space and they will match it up. they arent stupid.

    Don't panick, I doubt you can be penalized just for not writing the question you are doing. The Examiner's mark what you have done, not what you haven't.

    I do not know how the AQA do things, but since they mark things online I take it they use a O.C.R (Optical Character Recgognition) device.
    From my few months of Computing, I remember that these devices translate your written handwriting into text (no matter how bad it is, but if its atrocious then it just prints error).
    Once the Device prints out you have written 9e or whatever, it will print fault as it allocates questions accordingly with A and B.
    I may be wrong, but basically what I'm trying to say is do not panick.
