Why bother with a post grad course - waste of time? 17-10-2016

I am currently in first year, and assuming that my exams went well this month, I will be in second year next year, studying English and Language & Linguistics as my main degree subjects.

Did anyone here do the second year English courses this year or last year? And if so, could you tell me which books/plays were on the reading lists? The courses for next year are Encounters with Shakespeare, and The Tragedy of Knowledge.

I can hazard a few guesses for Shakespeare (I'll be very surprised if Othello isn't on the list), but I have no idea what I'm supposed to read for The Tragedy of Knowledge.
