To study Criminology & Psychology uni, am I going to have to do any volunteer work?

This may seem like a silly question but I've only seen people discuss volunteering once they're on the degree course, rather than in the A Level stage. I've been invited to take part in a volunteering scheme but if I don't have to just yet, I can work more hours etc.

I'm so stuck so if any Criminology students can help me that would be SO AMAZING. thank you in advance
