Placement year

I am currently looking to do a Placement year for my 3rd year at uni(2016/17) however, do i have to inform Student Finance about it, if I do not wish to take out any form of finance for my placement year?

Also, I havn't got my placement yet but if I do not manage to secure my placement can I just go straight to my last year at university(in 2016/17)? If so, will I be able to apply for student finance even though the deadline would have passed by then?
Hi there.

You should only apply for years you want funding, you can simply reapply after your placement for your final year and not apply this year at all.

You can apply after the deadline if you with, this simply means we can't guarantee your funding will be in place for you going back.
