Also, does having an UNconditional offer make a difference on where you're placed? Like with some universities, they give you your first choice because they know you're definitely going... x

Hi, I have also firmed a place at chelsea a little over 3 weeks ago and still not received a welcome pack, but I did ring up and managed to get my student number so that I could apply to halls. The booklet is available online on the UAL housing website as a PDF which is worth a look at and I thought the best halls were Julian Markham and Mana Ash just because they were the closest. I would ring up ASAP for student number as I applied for halls two weeks ago and still haven't got a reply!

I firmed my place at chelsea about four weeks ago and applied for accommodation three weeks ago- because they said they would reply within 2 weeks and they didnt i rang the housing services up and i told them my UAL ID number and they sorted out my halls there and then- Manna ash was my first choice but it was full- so I got Julian Markham. I would highly recommend just calling them- also if they are processing each student one by one- if you call them they will have to look you up so it could be like queue jumping!! what course are you doing at chelsea?? yes email admissions and ask for your UAL ID- i havent received any welcome pack either and i firmed chelsea almost a month ago! I had to do a lot of looking around in terms of halls- Manna Ash was my top choice but there were no rooms available, so I got my second choice- Julian Markham. It takes 20-30 mins i believe to get to chelsea using one bus. I think even though Chelsea is very central- there are no particularly convenient halls nearby Julian Markham though seems good! Obviously its very popular though as people going to LCC apply there as its only 5mins away from LCC. Hope this helps too! Lucy x

I actually just got my welcome pack in the post today after I had put that, so you should get yours soon too I guess. Calling them is a good idea so I will do that tomorrow see if I can get Julian Markham, good to know someone else going to chelsea and staying there. I will be doing Graphic Design (as long as I pass foundation) what about you ? JJ,

That's cool same course  and I will definitely call housing tomorrow as waiting is annoying. I'm doing my foundation course at Northampton uni, finished but still have to go back for the show, etc before we get a mark. Which foundation are you on? Finished?

I've read somewhere that If you reject our halls offers now we'll be able to re-apply for vacancies in July, I'm sure I've read it on the UAL website but I can't find it now, so, is it true or have I dreamt it or something?!

you can reject your vacancy, but if you do, theres NO garuntee that you'll be made a new offer, and if you are lucky enough to be made a new offer, it might be in the same/or a hall you didnt want.

I'm going to LCC, applied for Julian Markham, Manna Ash and Will Wyatt about two weeks ago. Rang up this morning and they told me they were so busy and behind schedual and that the only places they could offer me were Ewen Henderson or Emily Bowes Court. I went with Ewen Henderson just because EB seemed a bit further afield and heard bad things about things going wrong.

I'd highly reccomend giving them a ring, just to see where you stand.

They could only offer you those? :/ I just rang up and the woman was useless. She just kept saying, some are full, wouldn't name any and that no one can be guaranteed their first choice, which I already knew... She just said wait it out, you will get a place in halls. Now I'm worried :/

How long does it take to get a reply? And does it come through the post or by email?

    I got a reply after about 10 days...via email
but people on this thread got replies after 2 day! And some have waited over a month

After 2 week I'd probably phone them up...but then again, that didn't see to do much :P Perhaps you can try phoning the people the actually run the halls you're hoping for? Sanctuary run Manna Ash and a few others

Oh laurenn that's horrible! Try again tomorrow? Or perhaps contacting unite or whoever directly might be easier that's a good idea. Someone might have dropped out or something. you never know!

I got a place at Camberwell and I applied for the halls like in early May and my first choice was Brooke Hall n the second choice was Bernard Myers and the third choice was Manna Ash... Today I received an email from housin services tellin me the result n guess what! they wrote me that I have a room reserved at "Emily Bowes Court" I dunno what to do that hall is FREAKING FAR!

What should I do seriously? I just kno I'm not going to that hall FOR SURE

although i realise this must be quite annoying for you not to get ANY of your choices, this does mean there will be at least one person travelling from ewen henderson to LCC. hahaha. what are you studying? oh, and wtf, i swear the people on the ends of those telephones are are THE most annoying/least helpful people on earth!! ughh. by the way pther people - i applied the moment applications opened - 4 april, and i knew for sure by the 10 april. so like 1 week for me, but maybe i caught it at a good time?? good luck everyone!!
