For 5ii of the above paper the mark scheme below says that you have state that they are non parallel but haven't you proved that in part i as they are perpendicular

For part ii you need to show that the lines do not intersect.

yes but in the mark scheme you have to show inconsistency and also state non parallel

Yeah, you can quote the result from part i and say as they are perpendicular they are not parallel
