How did everyone the LDR question? Is the circuit going to work as intended?

I said that the circuit wouldn't work as intended as the bulb would be illuminated regardless of the resistance on the LDR as the bulb was in parallel to the LDR so the current had a pathway around it, so it would be illuminated non-dependant on the light intensity/Lux on the LDR.

I just went on to explain why when the room is dark, the bulb is going to be brighter.
