How are UMS calculated in Psychology?

I'm confused...

How would they mark my grade using the UMS. Let's say l got an E and A in each paper. What would be the grade?
It would depend on the weighting of the exams, and exactly what mark you got. Assuming they were both equal (say both 100), it would be 40 (U) + 80 (A) = 120. So, you got 120/200, which is 60%, so you'd get a C. If they weren't equal, add the UMS you got from both, and work that out as a % of total UMS.

Theres like a conversion chart thing from converting raw marks to UMS. You can find them on the internet for most exam boards. The AQA one is here, but the principle is the same for all exam boards.
