Do you need a 'core' subject at A level to get into uni?

I want to take psychology, politics and media- are these too 'dos' for uni? Do i need a core subject such as english or a science?
Not necessarily, but it depends on what universities and courses you're looking at.

Psychology and Politics are quite respected now anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Not necessarily, it depends on what university and what course you apply for; and of course your grades in those subjects. i would however certainly say that a core subject would be an advantage for applying to any course and any university.
