sections for silver DofE getting rejected during verification

I just submitted my expedition section for approval on the eDofE website. This should mean that after it's been marked as completed by my leader, i will have finished dofe since the three other sections have been submitted and marked as completed. However all the sections need to be verified to get the award. While i'm quite sure i have done two sections right, i'm not too sure about the others because i didn't complete them within the set timescales. For example the physical section was meant to be completed within 6 months but it ended up taking me over a year to do the minimum amount of hours... yeah, well done me :/

Considering that these sections have already been marked as completed and i'm pretty sure i didn't do anything else wrong should it matter that i went over the timescale? Has anyone had sections rejected during verification?
