    Yup, I do not seek their approval on anything. I mean I'd probably listen to what was being said, but honestly I can't imagine ever being in a situation where I am blind to some sort of huge negative in a new partner which my parents are miraculously aware of.

    (Nervousness because I'm interested in the same sex and most people seem to have moments of being unintentionally hurtful, and most of my family is not exempt from this. There's also the issue of archaic/stereotypical views to some topics which have yet to be discussed; many myths to dispel.)

    It sounds like approval, but it's not; it's apprehension.

    Idc wether they approve or not. Its your life and you made the decision. You know the partner better than they do so.
