What are you tips for getting an A*?

I would say to answer every question even if you don't know what to do try and work it out as working out marks are vital. Work hard at revising and try your best. Check your answers too. All the best of luck!

How do you work out if a vector is parallel/straight line?

If the vectors are multiples of each other, they are parallel to each other. If vectors are multiples (so parallel) and start from the same point, they are a straight line. Hope this has helped! Good luck!

Where or how to learn graph transformations please

Y=F(X)+A
Move up A units
Y=F(X)-A
Move down A units
Y= F (X+A)
move left A units
Y= F (X-A)
Move right A units
Y=AF(X)
Stretch vertically s.f A
Y=F(AX)
Stretch horizontally s.f 1/A
Y=-F(X)
reflect in the X axis
Y=F(-X)
Reflect in the Y axis

Hope this has helped! Good luck!

Area of a circle = πr^2
Circumference of a circle = πd
Area of a sector = θ/360 x http://prntscr.com/b8ciig^2
Arc length of a sector = θ/360 x πd
Circumference of a sector = Arc length + SIDES
Volume of a sphere = 4/3 πr^3 (will be on formula sheet)
Volume of a hemisphere = Volume of a sphere, all divided by 2, so a quarter of a sphere would be divided by 4 etc.

Also

Area of cylinder 2 πrh excluding: circles
Volume of pyramid LxWxH / 3

WOW your so clever! :smile: Could you help me with histograms, if that's possible?

Aw thank you very much! 😊
For histograms, just remember frequency density is frequency/class width. So if your given a bar and asked to work out the actual amount do frequency density x class width. If you remeber those basic principles you should be fine. Good Luck!!

What's θ sorry? Can I just do the 360 x πr^2 instead and for the other one 360 x πd instead? :smile:

Just to clarify, is this a thread about the Unit 1 Maths B Modular exam?? :smile:

I did Maths A, but I'm pretty sure people are advising for both A and B on the thread 😊
How to do

Cumulative frequency
Factorize
Expand
Simplify
How to work out percentages , ect..

Basically the first 20+ question topics , enough to get a C

Cumulative Frequency
In drawing the graph work out the actual cumulative frequencies by adding the frequencies together as you go up the table. Then plot them at the upper end of the class width. Then join them with a smooth curve, usually looks S shaped.

Factorizing
Expanding
Basically times the outside by everything inside.
E.G. 4n(n^2 + 2)
4n X n^2 = 4n^3. 4n X 2 = 8n
So... 4n^3 + 8n

If you have two sets of brackets times everything in one by everything in the other, using FOIL. First, Outside, Inside, Last.

Factorising
I'm struggling to put this one into words so just a video here which should help.

Simplifying

Hope this has helped you! Good luck!

I think by θ, he means how many degrees the sector is :smile:

Thankyou so much!
I'm getting really confused with algebraic fractions such as this (sorry for bad quality)
13254309_10209569342897051_6733555901319963436_n.jpg
could you help me solve it?
Could you explain how to find a perpendicular line from a given line equation or co-ordinates please if that makes sense? I'm really not sure on it at alllll 😂
