8. Teachers predict quadratic expression to work out quadratic equations that are hard to work out, will come up in calculator. Whilst at the other end simple things like trial and improvements might be on the calculator paper!
9. I will be revising the volume and surface area of shapes like a frustum because that won't be on the formula sheet.
10. I factorised question 9 to give T=5(x+4y) since it was worth 3 marks and included the formula T=5x+20y in the working would i still get the marks?

Yes you will get the marks, but there was no need to factorise but some examiners prefer that.

Volume of a frustum is just the volume of the bigger cone take away the smaller one, the formula for which is on the formula sheet (curved surface are of cone = (pi)rl). For surface area you do the same - you work out the curved surface area of the bigger cone, take away the curved surface area of the smaller cone, and add the areas of the two circles on top and bottom of the resultant shape. All of this is on the formula sheet. Here are a few that you HAVE to remember (I don't know about all of them though):

- Area of a parallelogram = base x vertical height

- Area of sector in a circle = angle size/360 x area of full circle

- Length of arc of a circle = angle size/360 x full circumference of circle

- full SA of cone (not just the curved sa) = (pi)radius x slant height(l) + (pi)radius^2

- volume of pyramid = 1/3 x base area x vertical height

- density = mass/volume

- speed = distance/time

Question 5. Estimate 892 ÷ 18.9 (2 marks)
Round to 1 significant figure

900 ÷ 20 = 45

Question 6. A teacher is picked at random. 3/5 chance they are female. 36 are males. (3 marks)
How many teachers are there altogether?

2/5 of teachers are male. 36 are male.

2/5 of total = 36
2 x 18 = 36
18 x 2 = 90.

Question 7. Can the floor be varnished with 3 tins of 2.5 litre varnish and it is 5 m2 per litre. (5 marks)

2.5 m x 6 m = 15 m2
2.5 m x 6 m = 15cm2

10 m - (2.5 m - 2.5 m) = 5 m
6 m - 2 m = 4 m

5 m x 4 m = 20 m2

15 m2 + 15 m2 + 20 m2 = 50 m2

5 m2 per litre, 50 m2 ÷ 5 m2 = 10 litres

2.5 litres per tin, 3 tins, 3 x 2.5 = 7.5 litres.

Not enough, 7.5 litres is less than 10 litres.

Answer is 'not enough' with evidence.

Angles in a triangle add up to 180°, base angles in an isosceles are equal.
180° - 48° - 48° = 84°

Angle at centre is twice angle at circumference.
84° ÷ 2 = 42°

Angles in a triangle add up to 180°, base angles in an isosceles are equal.
(180° - 42°) ÷ 2 = 69°

Question 21. What is the chance of the match being cancelled when it does not rain? (5 marks)

X² = 4[(X - 3)(X - 3)]

X² = 4[X² - 3X - 3X+ 9]

X² = 4[X² - 6X + 9]

0 = 3X² - 24X + 36

0 = 3[X² - 8x + 12]

0 = 3[(X - 6)(X - 2)]

X = 6 or X = 2

Thank you mate, but i'm just going over the topics, to refresh memory. I already know GCSE maths inside and out, but i make too many silly mistakes because i become over- confident. I didn't know about the density though, so ye it helped.

Over the half- term, I will predominantly revising further maths GCSE, is anyone else?
19. Hi I was just wondering if it would get marks for question 18. I did the right working out however I forgot to write the simplified answers out in the end. Do you think I would still get atleast mark for that. Examiners can be cruel sometimes.

Hey, I'm confident you will get the rest of the mark, examiners have to follow the board and edexcel always award marks for working, including the non-simplified answer.
