I was planning on taking maths next year if I get an A* in GCSE, but after the exam yesterday I think I will get a high A. Should I still take it at A level because I think I will enjoy it or should I only if I get an A*?

Take it anyway. You'll probably regret it if you don't and you're obviously good enough to do it. And you'll also probably pull up your grade in paper 2 anyway

I highly recommend taking maths if you enjoy it. I am currently in second year doing A2s. If you are up for it, go for Further Maths if available, then you get the broad range of Mathematical fields to go with the subject. Such as Statistics, Mechanics, Pure Mathematics and Discrete (decision) mathematics. Each in which provide a very useful skill set.
