I'll try and make this short and sweet but I've been suffering with a lovely cocktail of anxiety and depression for god knows how long.

Went to GP and he "temporarily" gave me a beta-blocker for anxiety but I ended up using it for a long time before he refused to sign the prescription.

I made an appointment to see him but ended up seeing a different doctor (a student GP) and he literally bullied me and evidently had no experience with mental health, but ended up referring me to get 'counselling' which I was pleased with.

Months after months later, around January, I finally got an appointment at CAMHS, being 16 at the time, now I am 17. And it was quite traumatic saying how I felt out loud but it was a complete and utter waste of time because she basically said that because I wasn't "severe" nothing can be done and I've just constantly felt so embarrassed.

Anyway, I haven't done anything about the whole issue since January. A Levels and Sixth Form have been an absolute wreck and I just don't know what to do any more. I can't face my regular GP - is it worth paying to see a private psychiatrist? How much does it cost?

    Thanks in advance. x
