those groups are a million times better than the sign of shaytan khamenei

Great to see you defending Alqaeda founded / associated groups. May Allah swt rid our Ummah of secterianism.

Why post annonymous?

Why not show who you are to me.

Unless ofcourse, you are ashamed at the apologetics for alqaeda founded and associated groups?

@lolatmaths @James82 let me jjust clarify that islam does not hold anything against non muslims as shown by @Tawheeds post

“I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers.” Quran 8:12

“Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not the power so to do. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah and your enemy…” Quran 8:59-60

“When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” Quran 9:5

“Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate.” Quran 9:73

“Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that God is with the righteous.” Quran 9:123

I could go on.

I really do believe in Islam
But I'm just never happy being known as a muslim, I have so many restrictions on my life, I'm not allowed to socially interact with non muslims by my parents orders and my muslim friends encourage me not to. I don't have any non muslim friends but they seem so nice on the streets and just in public.

I don't like to interact with my muslims they always make me more depressed than I already am.

are there any non muslims here who would like to converse with me, Id really like to know what makes you happy

that's the sad things about Muslim parents, they think whoever is Muslim is the best and everyone who is non-Muslim is not. Luckily, my parents are not like that and they have great non-Muslims friends they interact with same with me. Your parents shouldn't restrict you from talking to someone because they are not Muslim. I consider that to be a clear sign of discrimination in a religious context. You shouldn't rebel against your parents as I know how frustrating Muslim parents must be but you can talk to non-Muslims (keep them away from your parents).

Not you sister, i was quoting the other poster who posted annonymously.

There are some people on TSR who loathe shia's, consider the majority of us Kaffirs barring the ones who are layman. They actively promote hatred, disunity and secterianism

Furthermore, they tend to defend groups like Ahrar Asham, Jaysh al Islam, et al - who are founded by alqaeda members and have regularly worked with ISIS in the past, and Alqaeda in the present.

its lovely that a non-muslim knows so much about islam from some islamaphobic website. my mosque has had inter-faith events and nobody was against it. even the imam participated in countless inter-faith events
Original post by sfaraj
but there is no rule in Islam preventing you from befriending non-muslims, the parents have made them not happy. theres no way we can block non-muslims out. they are at work at school in public, so Allah wouldn't give a rule like that

the way i see it the parents of OP may want OP to not be influenced but i guess they've done it wrong as you can be a practicing muslim and befriend non-muslims

Yes. There is no such rule as that if anything there's plenty of evidence contrary to that. Problem with Muslims these days especially the parents is they mix their culture and religion and make up rules to help with parenthood and relate them to Islam. This is incorrect and you see it everywhere these days.

I must admit I didn't read OP's thread properly but nonetheless the same thing holds true; if Islam isn't making you happy, something is wrong with your Islam.
I'm so sorry for making this thread, I didn't mean to cause this, I just really wanted to have a conversation with a non muslim. So Sorry

this post is kinda wrong.

the underlying principle is to worship Allah
Islam does have many rules

That post is completely correct.
Islam is a way of life not a rule book. The underlying principle is to make people happy and one of those ways is by worshipping Allah.

I'm a Muslim, and I can see where you're coming from, know that it isn't your fault. I too believe in Islam but I think the way parents can make it dominate your life can seem unfair and slightly repulsive.

You're parents seem a little extreme in their practice. Islam doesn't teach us to be that way, we should communicate with people and build friendships. I too get a sense of being an outlier in the Muslim community, but that's because they're all together from friendship and not religion, they're good at heart but a lot of them are bad company. I suggest you talk to your parents and tell them how you feel about wanting good friends, just say so-so is really good because of this… make them seem like good people and I'm sure your parents won't mind. You need that independence

Theyre some pretty tight rules... Islam doesn't discourage talking to non Muslims at all... I think your parents are worried that you might start copying their actions of drinking etc. Perhaps ask them directly why they don't want you befriending non Muslims and argue your point strongly (with respect of course, otherwise they won't be convinced and will just end up offended). How do you think the prophet pbuh was so successful in spreading his message? All he did was talk to non Muslims!

Whaaat my parents are quite religious, pray 5 times a day, read Quran regularly and they've never restricted me from being friends with anyone; white, black or asian.

then why tf would you post it here? if you don't wanna be a Muslim then don't, no need to make it public and make Islam criticised more than it already is
honestly just what the hell. if you want to interact with non-Muslims, then go ahead Allah didn't forbid it and neither did the prophet (saw). ok, I get your parents have made a slight mistake by not allowing you to socialise with non Muslims, but were you seriously going to quit Islam just because of that??
please don't make conclusions that I'm judging you, because I didn't make this post to judge you, and I'm not someone to judge in the first place; but you really should be careful, because quitting Islam is not as simple as it seems, the punishment is great
May Allah lead you and all the Muslims to the right path

Islam does teach you to be that way:

“Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends.” Quran 5:51

You should try and have a deep thought about what you are saying , the shaitaan is in your mind , islam is a peaceful religion ,no one should be unhappy but this you really need to have a good think about . pray and ask Allah for guidance

do you really own an english quran and highlight all the quotes against islam? sounds like you do. quran was written in arabic not english. so people interpret it differently. especially since its very old arabic.

i am muslims and i believe in the quran but what i dont believe is that it is against non-muslims. the prophet himself interacted with non-muslims. people nowadays cherry pick what sources they use against religion and its petty. the quran is over 600 pages long with each surah being about a different thing
