So i was thinking of getting PLvsPW for my 3ds, but i've only played every game in the Professor Layton series, and have only played the first game of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series.

I was wondering if in order to play PLvsPW, do i have to complete both series?

Also since i haven't played Ace Attorney in loooonnng time, i was thinking of getting Dual Destinies aswell, but like i've said, i have only played the first AA game.

sorry this is a bit late. The game combines both mechanics, visual novel, and puzzles. It teaches you the mechanics, and does not contain any spoilers to the actual series. Dual Destinies does require some knowledge of the characters, and has some pleasing comebacks from old characters, which you need to really enjoy the idea. Hope this helped
