Accommodation for postgraduate students Sept 2016

Hello everyone!!
I'm Alexandra and I've been accepted as a postgrad student in Bournemouth Uni starting in September 2016
I have registered my interest for studio accomodation in the university halls of residence and soon I'll have to choose my studio.
However, I am stuck between Okeford and Chesil House and don't know which to choose. I have never lived before in halls so dont have any relevant experience. Which is the the best between those two? Also, Chesil house doesn't have double beds?
Hi Alexandra,

I've just replied to your question in another thread, but just incase you miss my post:

My name is Steve and I'm a Student Ambassador for BU. Do you have any particular preferences around things like cost or location? Okeford and Chesil are different in quite a few ways, so it would be good to find out what is important to you.

The main difference between the two is that Okeford House is a Post-Graduate only accomodation, whereas Chesil houses Undergraduates also.

Hey,

I have got a question. How did you manage to register your interest for studio as a postgradstudent? Was it available during Stage 1? Did I miss something?

I am asking because I do not recall that during completing Stage 1 I was able to choose my preferred interest (studio or ensuite). I could only do that during Stage 2 which was last Tuesday (14.06) :/ And when I logged into at 10am all of studios were not available :frown:

Your answer would help me to figure it out.

Thank you in advance

Hi
No it wasn't possible to pick your accommodation during stage 1
I managed to find a studio at Dorchester House because I rushed to log in the accommodation portal as soon as Stage 2 opened. I am guessing you were interested in a studio too?

Hey,

just noticed your answer. Yes, I was. That's why I asked about how did you manage to do that haha because when I was reading your post I was sure you did that at Stage 1.

I did rush too! I logged into at 10am! :frown: and just after that all studios were gone :frown:
If any other post-grad students are looking for a studio, I am renting mine in Mercury House from September 2016 for 12 months.

Mercury House is a brand new building, with a nice ensuite bathroom and kitchen in every flat, but big and central enough to make socialising easy.

Rent is £180 pw including bills and WiFi. Because I have to move soon, I will give a free £400 to anyone who signs my tenancy in the next three weeks!

Interested? Then please message me asap x
