Ah, you should try it though, nice geometry Q that I left out in my mock since for my 6th I decided to do Q3 instead of Q4. It's geometry without vectors, which I always like .

I don't know, to be honest. Not me.

13. Am I being really stupid or something? If P divided the line AB in the ratio t:1, I would think that would mean no?

Both shud be multiplied by AB btw

For (ii) I said line AB has equation and By equating a's and b's I get
subbing into eachother gets . I cant see an obvious mistake here? (overall I got t=rs instead of 1/rs suggesting my a,b 'coeffs' were the wrong way round).

I will do the prt again to see where you have gone wrong I did it differently but what I did was I flipped the diagram and used flipped a's b's etc to get the pos vector relative to the the other points(you can choose any) then add the position vector of either point(whichever you choose)

20. Just finished STEP III 2014. In my opinion this was a more difficult paper than 2013, mostly due to the number of geometry based questions. The one with complex numbers wasn't too bad but I dropped four marks on the vectors because I didn't use a proof by contradiction (was this necessary for the marks?). I should have gotten around 108 on that paper I think
