Wow good luck! I'd say if you want to start early then February half term is a good time to do so, however when you start revising early there's always the risk you might forget things by exam time. By Easter you should be in full swing. That's dedication, although I can't imagine you've truly learnt all the content at this stage? I think the secret to getting lots of A*s is proper exam technique, developed through doing plenty of past papers (so so important!!) and make sure youve got all your content learnt by Easter. Good luck!!

What about the November/December mocks? When do you recommend revising to get straight A*s?

Well seeing as they're not as big a deal I'd say October half term. However the key to getting really good grades isn't just how early you start revising but how efficiently you revise, so keep that in mind.

Did you revise at all during the summer holidays of your Year 10?

Not at all. I started "revising" in February half term but that quickly flopped, picked it back up again in the easter holidays but again trailed off again.

In the end I actually worked myself into quite a lot of stress because 90% of my revision was the day/night before each exam. I'd come home after one exam, work pretty much solidly for 8 hours because I was so scared that I didn't know enough, and then go to bed and get up early to do some more. Dont do what I did!!! Start in February at the earliest, Easter at the latest

i thought this was about helping someone... oh well, may as well join in:
(A2 level)
want: maths- A
Further maths (AS) - B
Chemistry- B
Physics - C

reality: maths A (as long as my school actually organise my stats resit :l)
Further maths ??? (only started course a couple of weeks back and we started with D1, looked at FP1 a tad and seems easy though)
Chemistry B
Physics - D/E (im absolutely hating physics right now. Yes i know, in general you get more practise questions wrong at A level than GCSE but i consistently get EVERYTHING wrong despite loads of revision. gave up with a "positive attitude" this week, getting me nowehere)

really I don't think its that good especially that annoying B grade. and the grades aren't good enough to get me into oxbridge

Oxbridge focus a lot more on your AS and A-Level predictions - they want more than anything to see progress from GCSE to AS or to see you sustain your high level of effort and attainment. As someone has already said in this thread, Oxbridge students tend to have an average of 6 A*s GCSE.
