# M1 a challenging pulley question help !

1. hi for part b of this question, it asks for v when a hits pulley. However, the distance from a to pulley is 0.7m though. Why is the distance 0.3m in the mark scheme. And also for part c surely if the the length of the string would have been 1.1m for b after a hit the pulley. Can anyone explain the distance bit thanks.
2. length of the string is 0.7m. to get a distance of 0.3m you subtract the length from b to the pulley, 0.4m, from 0.7m

So the string connecting a to pulley isn't 0.7m but instead the total length is 0.7m? Thanks.
