    I'm doing a thesis about scheduling of operations on a cable manufacturing in a small company.

    I would like some advices.

    What kind of software are you using? Please don't tell me Excel

    Hello, thank you for your reply. Nothing about excell. Actually, I have just started the thesis, I don't know what kind of method of scheduling I have to use. I've been studying a lot about Job Shop, Job Shop Flexible, Flow Shop and Flow Shop Flexible but I found it demanding to decide the most appropriate. I found a web page of a company which creates algorithms and softwares.
    They suggest to consider Cable Manufacturing as a Job Shop Problem, and to use squeaky wheel in combination with LP/IP solver. Another article suggests to consider it as a Flow Shop Problem, and to use TSP (travel salesman problem) as a technique. And another article suggests to use ILP solver (integer linear programming) and LEKIN (a software used for scheduling cases)
