1. Hey guys, so im doing a past paper for maths (exam sooon) and on question 20, you have to use the quadratic formula. Im normally okay with this. so the squared root bit in the numerator of the fraction in the formula is -5^2^- 4x3x-1. I keep on getting -13 on my calculator and in my head no matter what i do, but the mark scheme says that its 37?? I dont know how this is possible, please help!

Link to the paper and mark scheme (its question 20):

2. -5^2=25
-4x3x-1=-12
25--12=37
