Taken from January 2009 S2 exam

Okay - part C, surely it should be p(x<=4)-p(x<=1)??

Or am I going mental? Thanks!

The latter.

P(1X4)P(1\leq X\leq 4) = probability X is one of {1,2,3,4}, whereas you've clearly excluded the case for P(X=1)
