well i thought you get 5 as a result of tanA = 3/4 so obviously you construct a triangle and obtain 5 as the missing length and that length becomes Ta but it cant be just 5, i wondered whether you use the sine rule to obtain the lengths?

The triangle obtained from tan α = 3/4, and the vector triangle of forces, are separate from each other.

First step is to list out the equations you can get from your 3-4-5 triangle. tan α was found as opposite (3) / adjacent (4). What is sin α equal to? Cos α?

What's the other angle at the top in that 3-4-5 triangle in terms of α? Try and form similar equations for sin and cos.
