Write an article for teenagers about modern food habits and how to be healthier.

More than 60% of teenagers today don’t take into account what they eat on a day-to-day basis... could you be in this percentage? Many teenagers prefer a bag of crisps over a juicy, healthy apple whilst lounging around all day, every day without knowing just how bad that can be.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away! (we’ve all heard that before). The importance of eating your 5 a day is massive; but just how many of you actually follow this? Fruit and vegetables contain lots of natural, healthy and nutritious vitamins that your body needs. Yes, we can all agree we would rather be munching on a chocolate bar or a packet of sweets, but these types of food need to be eaten on occasions rather than an every hour snack!
Exercise! (a word I know I dread...). Less than 50% of teenagers nowadays prefer to stay at home; glued to their smart phones. Do you really think this is healthy? Why would you prefer to be stuck to a phone instead of having fun outside with your friend- actually talking to them face to face rather than texting? Less and less teenagers are becoming interested in after school clubs such as: dancing; football or rugby. I understand that not everybody is the athletic type. Nevertheless you could choose to leave the house and socialise or even choose to walk places instead of taking the bus or car.
Weight is one of the main issues that people in today’s society are faced with. Being seriously overweight, or seriously underweight, can have major health impacts to you present and in the future. It can lead to illnesses, issues around your body and even a premature death! Is this really what you wish for in life?
With that being said there are also issues with eating disorders in a lot of young teenagers. Of course we should all watch what we eat and maintain a healthy lifestyle... however sometimes people can go overboard and become seriously mentally ill. Teenagers become dangerously ill and some so close to death it’s frightening! If you know anybody who you think is like this or if you are- please find help.
So are you going to change your bad eating habits? Are you going to walk to school on that particular day, rather than hopping in the car? I hope you make the right decisions and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Remember... a healthier you is a happier you!
