1. can anyone remember the first question??
2. (Original post by bartbarrow)
C4
100 UMS - 66
A* - 61
A - 55
B - 49
C - 43

C3
100 - 70 (maybe 69)
A* - 62
A - 55
B - 51
C - 46
D - 41
E - 36
ok lol, I completely disagree on c3

Part a)

2tanϴ = 3x

Differentiating it implicitly

2sec^2ϴ * (dϴ/dx) = 3

(dϴ/dx) = 3/(2sec^2ϴ)
= 3/(2(1+tan^2ϴ))
= 3/(2+2tan^2ϴ)
= 6/(4+4tan^2ϴ)

And from the question tanϴ=3x/2
Therefore tan^2ϴ = 9x^2/4
Putting this into (dϴ/dx) gives

(dϴ/dx) = 6/(4+4(9x^2/4))
= 6/4+9x^2 as required

Part b)

You had to separate the variables. The first integral had to be done using by parts. The second was from part a, 1/6th of tan^-1(3x/2) because it was the integral of 1/4+9x^2. c came out as pi.

Ah thanks a lot man i reckon i got 1/2 of the first part.

anyone remember the answer for the question that was like 'write in the form Ax+ b +c/ (xxxx)
I got -3x + 2 +9
5. (Original post by spmenz123)
Can anyone remember how many marks the binomial expansion question was?
7 marks
6. (Original post by koolgurl14)
Sam I remember checking if it was negative twice when I did it as integration by parts , we all got the same C though
I'm pretty certain since if you Plug in the x and y values It works.
7. (Original post by Viableplayground)
thought the paper was very nice apart from that last question. Please can someone explain question 8
See the photo attached

Np I just got a little scared there lol

I put 330 in the exam and this was my working, couldn't remember the decimals after 8 but that's how you do it I think
thanks
9. Not a bad paper overall i think, they were very picky with how you put your answers. The vectors question (part c) was tricky but possible if you took your time
10. Did anyone get 1/3 for the gradient ?
11. How many marks will I lose because I put -69/2+9/2ln3 and then simplified it to -69+9ln3.

I'm stupid and don't know log rules.

also I put 330.04....w/e the decimals were and then rounded to 331 because that was how I interpreted it wanted rounding to. How many marks will I lose for that? Just one I assume, because I wrote the value then rounded it wrong?
12. Any unofficial mark schemes anywhere?

1 for each probably

1 for each probably
Okay, not too bad but fml for making stupid mistakes like that.
15. I managed to store some of my answers in my calculator (Stats mode is great!), besides the "show that" questions, and this is what I had:

1)A = -1/2, B = 9/2
-1 + 7x - 22/3 x^2 + O(x^3)
-1/2 < x < 1/2

2)x = 0°, 99.6°, 206.4°

3)A = -3, B = 2, C = 9
p = -69/2 (lol), q = 9/2

4) m = 181g, t_1/2 = 330 days

5) p = 2/15
r = 1/3, s = 4/15

6) cos theta = 13/35
intersection = (2, 0, -1)
C = (5/2, -5/6, 7/6), D = (3/2, 5/6, 5/6) (or vice versa)

8) k = 12, c = -pi (but if you put the +c on the opposite integral, you would have got c = pi assuming that's correct)

Anyone agree?
16. Damn I forgot it was positive sin3x do you think I'll only lose one mark for that.
17. But using C4 techniques, so it wan't off spec
18. if you clearly stated 330 before you should get the full marks, but if you only stated 331 i think you would loose and answer mark as it said to the nearest day(which would be 330) from what i can remember

I got that answer also, but i think you would lose 1 mark for putting down that final answer because it was "rational number" i think

I don't remember completely but I recognise those numbers. Except in q2 the range was 0<x<360 so 0 was not a solution
