How to control laboratory conditions?

I'm talking on a university lab scale, and I'm not really sure what I can do to alter the state of the room so that my results are accurate as possible...

The experiments are based on changing moisture contents of a material, therefore I'd need to control temperature, air movement, humidity etc but I don't know what I, a humble student, can do to ensure that when other people are also working in the lab?

If anyone has done experiments at university or has read anything useful, please let me know!

Thank you for your attention :h:
Don't let the door in the lab or fridge to be open for too long? lol However, you can always leave a A4 note on the door and if it is in big black letters and laminated it looks scary :h:
