1. Hey, I could not find any thread or anyone who has done the Edexcel computer science exam today. If there are any threads to do with this exam could you link me to it? If there isn't then this could be the thread?
2. Anyone?

3. Yep. Can't find a single active thread at the moment How did you find it?

It wasnt actually that bad! Wbu? Do u think the grade boundaries will be lower or higher than last years?

5. It was really good to be honest. Better than June 2015 paper for sure. The only hard question was the Assembly Language section. I think I lost marks in the HTML code question (something about unordered lists). The 6 marker was a walk in the park.

The Grade Boundaries will definitely be higher - no doubt.

A* - 71
A - 58
B - 44
C - 33
D - 26

No, it was 67.

Are you sure? You're meant to multiply the grade boundary which was 158 for an A* by 0.45 to get what you need out of 90, which equals 71.1 so it should be around 71/72 for an A*

Check it out here for proof, I'm not too sure though:

Oh ahaha I used the same guy and his first ever video he said you have to multiply it by 0.45.

I didn't see that video lol. I think grade boundaries will be around 69/70.

Lol. Yeah, CST is awesome. He helped me so much in my exam.

Yeah, it could be 69/70 - that's quite reasonable.

Sadly I only found him two days before and due to the fact that I haven't had a proper computer science teacher I had to teach everything to myself. Kind of gutted that I know I won't get an A* especially because after using CST I literally understood everything but because I had to remember things in like 2 days my memory was laggy today! Think I got an A though around the 60-66 area!
Argh actually super annoyed!! Also for the AI question I wrote about the problems, and not the ethical issues cos I just completely forgot what it was an when I had like 30 secs left I remembered what it was so I got no marks for that! I did write that it would cost money to produce AI lol and that it needs to be constantly monitored (which is completely wrong)! I also got software model mixed up with the concept question

It wasn't too bad either! Really hope an unofficial markscheme comes out soon. Which seems unlikely atm due to how unpopular Edexcel Computer Science is in comparison to OCR etc. :/
16. I am gutted for this exam I really wanted to do well but I do not know for sure what the were answer . I figured out i got around 57 but I don't have the markscheme I really hope one comes up soon. I already got a* in the coursework getting but i do not know what this exam will take my grade to.

What are the grade boundaries for coursework? I got 40/50 but my teacher has not told me the grade. I am uncertain but I believe this is an A...

Last year it was i think 40 for a* i got 45 and i know thats a* regardless. However the coursework was slightly easier according to my teacher so he thinks the grade boundaries will go up slightly so i think that would definitely be a A. The grade for computer science is in ucas points. so its the coursework plus grade plus the grade in the exam multiply by 1.6 or 1 and 2/3 to get your mark.

Yeah sure.

First question - did you write about how protocols are a set of rules that enable devices to communicate?

Really? I got 37 for my coursework (I had to do it in 2 days cos my whole controlled assessment got deleted) and I think I got 65 in the exam, however this suggests I got an A* because last years boundary says 158 was an A* but using your method (37 + 65) * 1.6 says I got 170. However I calculated that I needed 72 in the exam for an A*! Are you sure this is correct?
