Over half term my friend asked me to hang out on multiple occasions and i told her no because i was doing other things and then she was like "K" and now at school we're kind of just ignoring one another, and i don't know what to do. Its really awkward at school too...

Well as long as you explained that what you had to do was really urgent then the problem lies with her and not you.

Maybe ask her to hang out after school? Or maybe do something at the weekend? From her perspective she probably feels rejected and ignored, even though you obviously had good reasons as to why you couldn't hang out.
