1. Will there be a unofficial mark scheme like the one for the first paper? With the question, answer and number of marks.

Surely the trial improvement was 3.7? I think i worked out the distance from 34 and I think 3.7 was closer? Can't remember though
The equation was x^3 - 5x = 34 (I think)

3.75^3 = 52.734375

-5 x 3.75 = -18.75

52.734375 - 18.75 = 33.984375

So the answer is less than 34 but it's at 3.75 already so no matter what the answer is it's going to be slightly more than 3.75 which will automatically be rounded to 3.8

Would you have had to try 3.75? I didn't try it, I just tried 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8 and put 3.8 as my final answer because it says to 1 dp
If you got the right answer, they don't always need all of the working out but I think it depends on the question and how many marks it was.

Because if you don't try 3.75 you don't know whether to round to 3.7 or 3.8 (You are supposed to round to 3.8 cause 3.75 is too small

Question 15 did not equal to £7766.22
Because 1st year depreciated by 23%
so 0.77 x 15000 = £11550
then after the 1st year it was 18%
so 0.82 x 11550 = £9471
therefore no it was not more than half
Yes it did, because the question said for the first THREE years. Therefore after reaching £9471 u need to take off 18% again for the third year which makes £7766.22. The question means the first year u take off 23%, then each year after that u take off 18%. Therefore u take off 23% then 18% then 18% again.

Reps are not necessary but would be appreciated

It would be really useful if you could remember the question numbers
1. Order numbers correctly and include a key

Can you put the marks for each question?

For this particular question you do

yeah it sucks we gotta get an A to do Maths D;
14. (Original post by Anmol_.)
Even I got 3.7 it was definitely closer because 3.75 gave me an answer of 33... That would mean it should be the lower number not the higher one
But its still less than 34 which is why u go for the higher one 3.8

For the trial and improvement one my few ids were saying they got 3.7 but I got 3.8 and I was 100% sure that was right?

It was 3.7 as 3.8 was too large.
3.7 is too small
3.8 is too large
3.75 is too small
so 3.75<x<3.8 so the answer is 3.8

3.7 was too small and 3.8 was too large, but 3.75 was also too small. This means the solution must have been more than 3.75 (and therefore closer to 3.8), so it should have been rounded up to 3.8.
20. Any marks for the questions
