Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016

It's been above 165 a lot, though:

155 for A* in June 2015
167 for A* in November 2015
164 for A* in June 2014
166 for A* in November 2014
165 for A* in June 2013
169 for A* in November 2013

A lot of people seemed to find the non-calculator fairly challenging so that might lower the boundaries, although lots felt the calc paper was quite easy too.
Average grade boundary is 166, not taking into account June 2015

its was the one where you had top work out x for the permiter for the recentangle
x+4 X x i think x= 5 i dont acuatly know if thats right
couldnt have been 5 if you substituted 5 for x it didnt add up to 45 it was definitely 9.25
3. I got 80.1

Yh because the lowest an A* has ever been is 155 so 140 has to be the highest for an A. It ranges from 128 to 140 so hopefully its between 130 and 140 this year. I really want to get an average of 65-70 on both papers so I can get an A.
The highest grade for an A has been 135 or 133
5. For the question with the triangle inside of a triangle where you had to find X how did you work it out??
Because I found a side using Pythagoras and then used trigonometry to find the angle

Why didn't you take June 2015 into account?

X3-5x=34.
Assuming X=3.7 would give an answer of 32.153, its difference from 34 being 1.847. However, assuming X=3.8 would yield an answer of 35.872, its difference from 34 being 1.872. Since the difference between 34 and the value of X as being 3.7 is smaller than the value at 3.8, X=3.7.
Hope this helps.
um hang on, arent u meant to test 3.75 and 3.75 is less than 34, therefore x has to be in between 3.75 - 3.8
8. For the question where you had 3-x/3x squared - 5x - 12 would I get the marks for 1/ 4 - 3x

What did everyone get for the perimeter of the sector????!!!
28.9

This is really useful however I can't remember how many marks each question was worth and I don't have a copy of the exam paper. Could you please include the marks for each question? Thank you.

That's exactly what I did!

Hey guys I got 211/200, do you think that's gonna be enough for a B!?
Assuming you mean 111? cx i'd have thought that would be enough, the grade boundaries should be fine c:

Let me know if you find out about mr kirbia please!!! ☺️
He's not doing the calculator paper

For the question with the triangle inside of a triangle where you had to find X how did you work it out??
Because I found a side using Pythagoras and then used trigonometry to find the angle
I used trig to find the angle of the bigger triangle and took 30 away from it

how was it

wondering what you got on the last one?
i got 81.2
17. (Original post by 34908seikj)
Wasn't the last question like 1/2 * 7 * 8 Sin(X) = 18

56Sin(x) = 36

Sin^-1(36/56) = X

x = 40

???

I think I did it wrong then.
I think there was more steps because it was a 6 marker. After that you have to use the sine and cosine rule... At least that's what I did. Hope I got it right.

There was a big debate earlier, i put 3.7 but either way, a few marks cant make a massive difference
19. I got 3.7 because you had to pick the smallest one and 3.8 was too big
