Hi, I wonder if any one could give me some advice. I am currently finishing my first year of a Theology & Religion degree at Oxford University, which I have loved and intend to complete. That said, I am not sure this is an area that I want to spend the rest of my life studying. I love the intellectual rigour of the course, but am not keen on becoming a priest/doing a law conversion course/other normal roots after study. I studied five humanites subjects at a level and did well enough to get in for my course, but I have always loved science. I love animals and often thought of doing veterinary medicine in the years before choosing my GCSE's, but was told not to do separate sciences beause I was better at RE. I have realised I really want to at least take some other a levels once I graduate, maybe maths, biology and chemistry, but wonder whether a vet school would ever consider a mature student who has a slightly 'dodgy' history, i.e. not all science background? I would be really grateful if any mature vet students/admissions advisors etc would give me an honest opinion about whether this would be possible? Thanks

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

You can also find the Exam Thread list for A-levels here and GCSE here. :dumbells:

Yes you'd be considered there's a guy in my year in his 40s. Retake your A levels, do your work experience and then see from there

I think you could possibly be eligible for a preliminary year. Check each of the bet schools to see if they do one. I know at Nottingham there's a prelim year that's for people who haven't done science A levels. It's mainly aimed at school leavers but could be worth a go getting in touch with admissions
