Why bother with a post grad course - waste of time? 17-10-2016
1. p=3×〖10〗^5. What is 100p?
q=a×〖10〗^m. Write down 1000q.

Work out (7×〖10〗^3 )+(9×〖10〗^3 ).
In this question p=a×〖10〗^m and q=b×〖10〗^m, where a+b>10.
What is p+q?
In this question x=2×〖10〗^p, y=3×〖10〗^q and z=4×〖10〗^r.
Write down the value of xy.
Write down the value of z/x.
Write down the value of zy.

Work out (4×〖10〗^6 )×(7×〖10〗^11 )
You are told that (p×〖10〗^5 )×(q×〖10〗^8 )=r×〖10〗^m and that p+q>10.
Write down the value of m.
Write down r in terms of p and q.
x=5×〖10〗^b. What is the value of x^2?
In this question p=4×〖10〗^a and q=8×〖10〗^b.
p×q=3.2×〖10〗^12 and p/q=5×〖10〗^2.
What are the values of a and b?
If (5.3×〖10〗^6 )+(p×〖10〗^5 )=5.72×〖10〗^6 write down the value of p.
(5×〖10〗^4)/(a×〖10〗^m )=6.25×〖10〗^(-4) where 1≤a<10 and m is an integer.
Find the value of a and the value of n.
