Parking fine

I parked on campus a couple of days ago and, as it was the second time I've done this, I was given a parking ticket. I've heard on the grape vine, however, that since it's a private company you don't actually have to pay it - has anyone had experience of this?

You don't need to pay but if they take you to court and win, you will owe a debt.

If the debt is linked to the university, they can refuse to let you graduate unless the debt is paid.

You have had a warning, therefore you have little defence for not being aware of the rules.
